Meghan Markle is slowly bringing down her walls—metaphorically, at least. Having spent years keeping much of her $14.65 million Montecito, CA, mansion hidden from public view, the Duchess of Sussex is now offering a sneak peek inside the property in a new video posted to her Instagram account.
The 43-year-old mother of two shared a candid clip of herself inside the sprawling property she shares with husband, Prince Harry, while proudly showcasing a gift from Billie Eilish, which she secured for a 15-year-old victim of the California wildfires, who lost her most treasured possession in the blaze.
Filming herself on her phone, Markle can be seen walking through several rooms of her mansion while telling viewers: “I was just told that something arrived that I have been waiting for.”
Passing by elegant spaces with exposed wooden beams and chic white walls, the former “Suits” star exclaims, “Oh my god,” as she catches sight of her delivery.
She then pans the camera to reveal a tasteful wooden console on which a stack of clothing has been placed—before setting up her phone so she can explain the meaning behind the exciting package.

“About two or three weeks ago, when my husband and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes,” she explains, while standing in front of a dramatic metal lighting fixture—a striking piece of her home’s Mediterranean-style design.
“This mom had found a couple things … as I was talking to her, I turned and looked, and I saw this young woman, and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, how old are you?’ She’s 15,” Markle goes on.
The teen’s mother then told Markle how her daughter had lost her most prized possession in the fire: a T-shirt from a Billie Eilish concert that had been in the laundry when the flames engulfed their home.
“When they came back to see their house for the first time [after the fire], which is [when] we were meeting them, [the teenager’s mother told me] that all she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to,” Markle recalls.
“She left [it] in the washing machine or the dryer. And of course now they see their home and the washing machine, the dryer are ash, they’re not there anymore.”
So, Markle vowed to help the young girl replace her lost clothing item, telling her: “I don’t know Billie Eilish, but I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt.”
After meeting the mother and daughter—whose home was destroyed by the Eaton Fire—Markle “thought of everybody that I knew” to try and figure out who might be able to help her track down a new tee for the teen.
“I made a voice note and I was like, ‘Please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish?'” she reveals.
Thankfully, Markle’s star-studded friendship circle—which includes the likes of fellow Montecito resident Oprah Winfrey and former neighbor, Ellen DeGeneres—came through, with the Duchess revealing that former Montecito locals Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo helped her to get in touch with Eilish, who then sent over a stack of merch for the young wildfire victim.

“You guys, I don’t even know what this stuff means,” Markle admits as she points to the stack of clothing and products that Eilish had delivered to her.
“But it’s signed for her!” she adds, while showing off a record with Eilish’s signature written across the front.
“Huge thank you Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her. And honestly, to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line.”
Markle concluded her video by thanking everyone “who is showing up for people in big and small ways,” adding that she was going to go and email the teen’s mother immediately to let her know what she’d secured.
“Let’s keep supporting those affected by the California wildfires,” she added in her caption. “Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes.”
The Netflix star’s video comes just days after she and husband Harry paid a visit to Altadena in order to help those who had been impacted by the Eaton Fire, which was one of several blazes that ripped through Los Angeles during the second week of January.
At the time, Markle and Harry were seen distributing food and supplies to locals who had lost their homes and been displaced as a result of the blaze, while chatting with victims—including the unnamed Billie Eilish fan and her mother.
The Sussexes’ own home, which they purchased in 2020, is located outside of the evacuation zones and was not effected by the fires.

However, reports emerged in the wake of the blazes breaking out that the couple had opened up their property as a refuge for their friends and family who had been forced to evacuate their homes as a result of the fires.
They also shared an official statement about the fires on their official Sussex.com website, where they offered several resources for those impacted by the fires while also urging those who are able to do so to offer sanctuary to their displaced loved ones.
“If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating,” they wrote.
The pair have been living in their home since 2020, when they quit their roles as senior working royals and relocated from the U.K. to California.
The sprawling property boasts plenty of room for visitor courtesy of its nine bedrooms—which are complemented by 16 bathrooms.
Although Harry and Markle have gone to great lengths to keep the interiors of their home private, they have shared a few small glimpses inside the property over the years—including images and clips that were aired as part of “Harry & Meghan.”
At one point, Markle could be seen posing for a photo in the nursery, while another shot showed Harry in an office, taking calls on his laptop.
That desire for privacy has proven something of a sticking point with at least one of their Montecito neighbors, however, who spoke out recently to criticize the duo for failing to get actively involved in the community.
Speaking in a German documentary entitled “Harry: The Lost Prince,” Richard Mineards, one of the couple’s neighbors, issued a scathing assessment of Markle, claiming that she has not been an “asset” to their neighborhood.
