Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back with another Netflix project—this time, a five-part docuseries that captures that “luxurious” world of professional polo.
The series, aptly titled “Polo,” digs into the lives of some of the world’s most successful and wealthy polo players, including Harry’s close personal friend Nacho Figueras, and centers largely on a tournament that takes place in the incredibly upscale enclave of Wellington, FL.
Polo, known as “the sport of kings,” is a team sport played on fast-moving horses and involves hitting balls with a mallet on a grass field. It’s as exclusive and posh as it gets—and Wellington is one of its few global capitals.
Many of the world’s greatest players spend much of their lives on the road, traveling the globe to various tournaments, with events in Argentina, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the Hamptons in the U.S., all appearing on the annual polo calendar.
As the trailer for the series—which Harry and Meghan executive produced—notes, “polo is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle.”

However, Wellington, which is one of the wealthiest areas in Florida, has long been known as one of America’s biggest polo hotspots—so it makes sense that Argentina native Figueras, 47, would choose it as his U.S. base.
Figueras, whose given first name is Ignacio, takes center stage in Harry’s “Polo” documentary. In it, he opens up about his lengthy career in the sport and the many risks involved in playing.
“Imagine going on a horse at 35 miles per hour with someone coming at you at full speed,” he says in the trailer.
Snazzy estate
Off the pitch, the Argentinian who is dubbed the “David Beckham of Polo,” owns a snazzy home in Wellington, FL, the “winter circuit” horse capital of the world.
According to a 2023 profile of Figueras in Architectural Digest, featuring the spectacularly renovated property, the family had previously rented a three-bedroom, ho-hum condo nearby—looking all the while for the perfect perch for their family home.
They found it and paid $2.8 million for the property in 2021. It’s now valued at over $4 million, according to Realtor.com®.

Described as the “best estate lot in the Polo Club,” the offering is “hugged by a lagoon with expansive gold and water views,” a prior listing notes.
A recent renovation had included a brand new roof, new A/C system, tankless water heater system, custom cabinetry, and new paint. However, while the home underwent an overhaul before Figueras and his family moved in, they still set about transforming it from the inside out after purchasing it.
“It’s the best lot in the development because it’s on a corner and surrounded by water,” Figueras told AD.
The chic Florida retreat includes five bedrooms, 5.5 baths, across 5,000 square feet.
Renovated residence
After he and wife Delfina Blaquier, 44, an Argentinian photographer, purchased the place, they set out on a massive renovation to suit their particular tastes.
Although the waterfront setting was incomparable, and the “unadorned Moorish facade” appealed, the ornate interiors didn’t move them.
“It was like a Scottish castle, which doesn’t fit this landscape,” Figueras told AD.

They tapped architect Juan Ignacio Ramos and interior and product designer Sarah Sherman Samuel to redo the spaces to connect with the surrounding environment.
The result is lime-washed walls, tile floors restored to their original terra cotta hue, and dark wood floors bleached to a brighter tone.
The designers made a big change in the living room, relocating the fireplace and replacing sliding glass doors with arched windows and glass doors.
Figueras may not be a household name yet in the U.S., but he’s about to become more widely known thanks to the Netflix series and his connection the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Anticipation certainly seemed high on social media.
“I love this. Glamour and drama. My kinda tea,” one commenter on X posted about the series.
Another added, “I cannot wait. I know nothing about Polo and didn’t think I needed to but Harry and Meghan have a way of introducing you to new things and suddenly I am wanting to know everything about Polo!”
